Esmina Radušić - Arayüz Geliştiricisi Olma Yolundaki Serüvenim
On Tuesday, March 22, 2022, Software Engineering (SE) study program at the IUS Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (FENS) organized an interesting lecture with Ms. Esmina Radušić, a Frontend Developer at Rubicon d.o.o. It is a software development company based in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, which began as a two-friend project and now, after almost a decade, the company employs 38 employees with a focus on mobile development, UX design, web development, etc.
Ms. Radušić, who is currently on her postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Sarajevo, shared her journey with IUS students of becoming a Frontend Developer. The most interesting part of her story was the fact that this was her first job upon graduation showing the company’s openness to accept young and inexperienced people while offering them full support and training in their path of becoming more experienced professionals.
Ms. Radušić explained the benefits of being a Frontend Developer. She said that if you like seeing your results immediately, then it is the right position for you. She also presented the tools students, future professionals, will need in their work as Frontend Developers, such as the building blocks of the Web: HTML, CSS and JS. In addition, she explained the advantages and disadvantages of React JS, a JavaScript Library and Angular, a web application framework, which are generally used by Frontend Developers.
The most appealing part of the lecture for SE students was the Rubicon Internship Program where students get to work on real projects with real teams for two months. During this part, Ms. Radušić shared tips and tricks on what is important when applying for this program and how to get a job at the company after completing the Internship Program.
The lecture ended with a fruitful Q&A session where students asked about programs she uses, her theoretical knowledge before getting the job and what kind of projects she has worked on.
